The fashion house Lanvin was founded by Jeanne Lanvin in Paris in 1889. A true entrepreneur, “she was able to impose her idea of fashion before fashion was even a concept”.
Today at the helm of Lanvin is Alber Elbaz, heralded as God’s gift to women, famous for his draping and flattering cut.
Fashion authority Suzy Menkes of the International Herald Tribune wrote: "... Elbaz is every woman's darling. And that includes Nicole (Kidman), Kate (Moss), Chloé Sevigny, Sofia Coppola and a slew of rising movie names."
In 2007, Elbaz was listed among Time Magazine's 100 Most Influential People in the World.
Simplicity, expert draping and jewel colours are all signatures of Lanvin clothing, with bold accessories key to the look of sophisticated, understated elegance.
"I just want to make people more beautiful and happy."
